Thomas Smith

Thomas Smith, after whom Smithville was named, was born May 14, 1788, in Washington county, Pa., and on January 8, 1815, was married to Jane Wiley, of the same county. In the spring of 1818, with his wife and two children, he immigrated to Greene township, and settled on the east half of the south-west quarter of section 18.
