Thomas M. Thompson

Thomas M. Thompson was born in Orange Township in 1838. His father, Peter G. Thompson, came from New York State to Huron County, Ohio, in 1834, where they lived three years; then removed to Miami County, and remained there only a few months, when they came to Shelby County in 1838, where the subject of this sketch was born on Christmas day. He has lived in the county all his life, most of the time in Perry Township. In 1862 he married Miss Maggie E. Kiggins, by whom he has had three children: Lizzie S., born 1863; Carrie F., born 1856; and Dolly B., born 1873. The Kiggins were among the early settlers of Shelby County; they located as early as 1817. The grandfathers of Mr. and Mrs. Kiggins were both revolutionary soldiers.
