Wm. Kirtland
Wm. Kirtland was born in Chenango County, N. Y., July 18, 1811. Was married to Miss Sarah Bryan, of Shelby County, August 30, 1832. She died at the Kirtland homestead, June 17, 1848, aged thirty-two years, and was buried in the cemetery one-half mile west on the Staley farm, where lay four of her daughters, who died young. Mr. Kirtland married for his second wife Miss Frances Jennings, June 21, 1849. In the fall of 1854 he, together with his wife and two sons, Elias and James, moved to Cass County, Ind., where he died in May, 1863.
