Samuel Wirts

Samuel Wirts enlisted May 22, 1847, in Company D, Fourth Ohio Infantry. George Weaver, afterwards sheriff of Richland County, was his captain, and Charles H. Brough, brother of War Governor John Brough, was colonel of the regiment. Mr. Wirts is the father of Mrs. B.F. Palmer, matron of the Richland County Infirmary. Samuel Wirts' father was a soldier in the war of the revolution.
