Clermont R. Pollock

Clermont R. Pollock received his degrees in Mansfield Lodge and was elected Master, November 2, 1827. He served as Secretary in 1822, Junior Warden in 1823, Junior Deacon in 1825, and Senior Warden in 1826-27. The first saw-mill in Mansfield was built by Clermont and Robert Pollock. It was a tramp-wheel mill propelled by three yoke of oxen and was located a short distance south of the Park Theatre, corner of Diamond and South Park Streets. The first brick house in Mansfield was built where Maxwell's store is now located on the west side of Main Street. It was first occupied by Clermont Pollock, a wheel right and a son-in-law of Judge McClure.
