H. Alexander

THE EXCHANGE BANK OF BELLVILLE under the proprietorship of Messrs. H. Alexander, and John and David Zent, is an enterprise of importance and deserving of an extended notice in this review of the town. This institution was organized May 30th., 1872, with H. Alexander as President, and David Zent as Cashier. The enterprise, although recently established, is in the enjoyment of a large and rapidly increasing business. It enjoys the utmost confidence of the public, and no institution in the State is conducted in a more safe or reliable manner. It is conducted upon the system of individual liability, giving the greatest security to its patrons. They do a general banking and exchange business the same as our National Banks, except in the mere matter of the issue of money; dealing in government bonds, gold and silver; buy and sell exchange, and make collections upon all available points, in the country. The gentlemen representing this enterprise are all old residents of the place, and men of well known probity of character, and possessed of ample experience and abundant capital. Under their supervision we predict for the Exchange Bank of Bellville a long and prosperous future.
