Frederick Riedinger


Frederick Riedinger, farmer and stock-dealer, P. O. Randolph, was born in Randolph Township, this county, November 16, 1840, a son of George P. and Susan Riedinger, natives of Baden, Germany, who came to America in 1840. They settled in this county, where they remained until their death. The father died in 1864; the mother in 1874. Our subject was married, November 12, 1863, to Louisa Ackerman, born in Marlboro Township, Stark Co., Ohio, March 18, 1843, a daughter of Matthias and Henrietta Ackerman, natives of Wurtemberg, Germany, who immigrated to Stark County, Ohio, and afterward removed to Crawford County, where they remained until their death, the mother dying in December, 1868, the father in February, 1880. Mr. and Mrs. Riedinger had five children, four of whom are now living: George F., born September 3, 1864; Mary L., born April 15, 1866; Henry W., born April 8, 1868, and Hattie S., born December 16, 1872. An infant is deceased. Our subject is a farmer and. stock-dealer, and owns 128 acres of improved land. He is a F. & A. M.; has filled the office of Township Trustee and that of Assessor for four years with credit to himself and to the satisfaction of his constituents.
