In a few years Gersham and Enoch sold out and went West, while Samuel remained. After he became of age he worked on a farm by the month for two years, then on his father's farm for seven years, after which he purchased a farm of sixty acres, which he kept only one year. In 1848 he purchased the farm in Franklin Township where he now resides. Mr. Judson's first wife was Chloe, daughter of Horace Loomis, of Charlestown Township, by whom he had three children: Julia (Mrs. Darwin Furry), Hannah (Mrs. Byron Ferry) and Henry D. His present wife is Almira, daughter of Noah and Hannah (Shaw) Lemoin, of Stowe, Summit Co., Ohio, by whom he has two children: Samuel E. and Barton H.
