Reuben Salyer
Reuben Sayler, the father of John Sayler, was born 7-4-1818 Frederick Co MD, married Hannah Smith who was born in 1821 Frederick Co MD & is the daughter of Samuel Smith 7 Catherine Linn. Mr & Mrs Sayler settled in Frederick Co MD on 160 acres. They retired to Union Bridge, in Carroll Co where after 20 years, Mr. Sayler died in 1878, aged 68y. He left a valuable estate, in farming lands & city property. He served as a member of the Council of Union Bridge & also as mayor of the town.
