John Salyer
John Sayler, the subject of this sketch, was born 6-18-1842 Frederick Co MD, he moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1862, a young man, he became engaged in the flour-mills for 2 years. On April 18, 1865 he married Harriet E. Wampler, who was born 6-15-1845 Harrison Twp Montgomery Co 4 miles north of Dayton, daughter of Jesse Wampler & Catherine Puterbaugh. John & Harriet settled in Harrison Twp & lived there for 6 years, moving to their present farm of 104 acres on 12-14-1871, turning it into a dairy farm & also makes wine.
