Thomas B. Wilson
Is a son of James and Eleanor Smith Wilson and was born in Canaan township October 31, 1841. Early education was obtained in the Lafayette school, and in 1860, he entered the Ohio Wesleyan, graduating in 1865. Enlisted in the 154th O. V. I. May, 1864, and mustered out September, 1864. August 24, 1865, he married Elizabeth S. Trimble, of Gayson, Ky., a classmate. To them were born five children, Eugene Trimble Wilson, graduate of West Point, and now a major in the regular army. Doctor Morrow Beach Wilson, who now resides at home; John T. Wilson, Mrs. Mary Trimble Wilson Keifer, Springfield; and Bettie Wynne Wilson, who also resides at home.
Mr. Wilson has always been an ardent Republican and though his farm of nearly 600 acres, has kept him a busy man, yet he has found time to serve the public in positions of trust and honor. He has been twice elected township trustee, and in 1890, was the choice of his party for State Senator from this, the Eleventh District. He was elected and made an able, fearless representative of the people, serving in the 69th general assembly.
His success as farmer and career as a public man have been eminently gratifying, and his home on the Lafayette pike, two miles north of London, is one of the attractive spots of the county.
