Henry C. Guy
Henry C. Guy, farmer and stock-dealer, P.O. Mechanicsburg, was born October 28, 1832, in Pike Township, Madison County. In his youth, he was trained to the pursuits of farming, in which he is now engaged. He received a good common school education, and on October 28, 1860, married Miss Eliza A. Bradley, daughter of James L. and Betsy Bradley. To them have been born four children — Rolla B., William H., James C. and Cora M. Mr. Guy has from his youth up been a resident of Pike Township. In 1857, he went to England and France for the Darby Plains Importing Co., and imported English draft and Norman horses. In 1870, he again went to England and Scotland, and imported Clydesdale horses for the Guy Company. For many years, Mr. Guy has been engaged in stock raising and dealing. He has served as Trustee of Pike Township, and as Justice of the Peace, and is the owner of 526 acres of land. He has also in Canaan Township 160 acres. The parents of Mr. Guy are William and Adelaide, a venerable couple, advanced in years, and of whom we have made mention in this history.
