John Philips
John Philips was born in Lawrence county on the first day of March, 18__. At Ironton, in this county, June 15, 1864, he was married to Eliza Ann Liggett, who is a native of Jay county, Indiana, born November 9, 1840. Mr. Philips is residing in Elizabeth township, and he is engaged in merchandising and mining. His parents are Ephraim and Hannah (Turvey) Philips. The parents of Mrs. Philips are John and Elizabeth (Turvey) Liggett. They settled in Lawrence county in 1850. The children of Mr. Philips are as follows: Elizabeth, born April 26, 1865, resides at home; John, March 26, 1868; George, February 13, 1871; Mariah, deceased; William, March 2, 1878; Eliza, September 26, 1880. The postoffice address of Mr. Philips is Ironton, Lawrence county, Ohio.
