Samuel Muchmore


Samuel Muchmore was born in Morristown, New Jersey, from which State he emigrated to Ohio, and settled in Columbia township in 1798. He followed the business of boating on the river to New Orleans, and died on his last trip to that city. He also did much at farming. His wife's name was Sarah Muchmore. His son John was the father of Eli L. Muchmore, who is now the only representative of the family alive. He lives on a part of the old homestead, and is called a worthy scion of the old stock. His birth occurred in the year 1823. For eight years during and after the war, he was township trustee, and has also held the office of district
