James M. Clark
James M. Clark, farmer, is a son of William Clark, whose sketch appears elsewhere, and was born June 8, 1855, in the house he now occupies, where he was reared till fifteen years of age (his mother having died when he was but eight months old), when he removed to his father's farm in this township. He received the rudiments of a common school education, and also attended the Bloomingburg Academy, and the Wesleyan University, at Delaware.
In the spring of 1877, he removed to his farm, and was married, December 25, 1879, to Tille J. Paullin, daughter of U. F. Paullin, also of this county. She is a member of the Christian Church. He is a member of Ely Commandery, No. 28, and of New Holland Lodge and Fayette Chapter, F. & A. M., and is Master of New Holland Lodge, No. 392.
He owns fiye hundred and two acres on the Bloomingburg and New Holland road, most of which is in a good state of cultivation, and is watered by the North Fork of Paint Creek, which runs through the farm. He is a Republican in politics, but does not aspire to office.
