William H. Hilborn
WILLIAM H. HILBORN, farmer and stock dealer: P. O. Tiro; was born in Sandusky Township June 25, 1831. He is a son of Isaac and Nancy (George) Hilborn, a sketch of whom is found in the biography of Rohert G. Hilborn, his brother. Like his other brothers, William was reared on the farm. Two years prior to his marriage, he worked out by the month, the first season receiving $1 per month and the next season $12.50. This was his marriage start. He was married Jan 2, 1855, to Elizabeth Crouse. daughter of Abner and Harriet (Thoman) Crouse, and to them were born three children - Ira O., born in September, 1856; Anna L.. born in May 1858, died when 4 months old: Mary A., born in May 1861. Mrs. Hilborn was born Jan. 6, 1836. From his marriage up to 1865, Mr. Hilborn has made many changes. He at one time owned the saw mill near where his house now stands. He now owns 80 acres of well-improved land in Western Auburn Township. Mr. Hilborn is a Republican in politics, and a hard worker in the cause of advancement in our public schools. He is intelligent and entertaining, and commands the respect of a large circle of friends.
