Stephen Cook
Stephen Cook was born in Richland County, April 3, 1819, and came to Allen County in 1843. His father and mother, William and Eunice Cook, who were originally from Washington County, Pennsylvania, came to Allen from Richland County in 1855. Mr. Cook married Amanda, daughter of Gavin and Ann Mitchell. They have eight children--Ann J. and Martha L. (twins), Eunice J., Isabel A., William M., Robert C., Stephen W. and Albert B. Following are the names of the children of Wm. and Eunice Cook: Hannah, Samuel, Eliza, Arenath, Eunice, Catharine, Julia, Martha, Patterson, Eleanor, Mary, Sarah and Stephen. Mrs. Cook has three brothers and two sisters--Martha, Isabel, Robert, Josiah and Barnet Mitchell. Mrs. Cook was born in Richland County, Dec. 17, 1818.
