Peter Moothart


Peter Moothart, second son of Andrew and Margaret Moothart. was born in Fairfield County, Ohio, January 27, 1825, and came with his parents to Shelby County in August, 1832. His education consists of what could be obtained in the common schools. His boyhood days were spent on the farm with his parents, and he has followed farming through life. In October, 1880, he retired from the business and is now living a retired life. On the 1st day of November, 1846, he married Miss Sarah Fosnight, born in Stark County, Ohio, January 29, 1825, and came to Shelby County with her parents, Martin and Mary Fosnight, in 1835, who settled in Van Buren Township. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Moothart settled on his father’s home farm, remained until in October, 1880, when they moved to Anna, where they now reside. They reared a family of six children, Andrew W., John, Mary A., Elizabeth S., William H., and Lydia A. Mr. and Mrs. Moothart are members of the German Lutheran Church at Anna.
