Mrs. L. E. Barker

Mrs. L.E. Barker, aged about 50 years, was struck by an eastbound B.&O. freight train Wednesday at 3 p.m. and thrown 20 feet. Her skull was fractured, her right arm mutilated so that amputation was necessary, and one of her limbs injured. It is said she was deaf and walked in front of the train at Whitney Avenue, although the engineer whistled and rang the bell lustily to warn her.
