Abraham Boyd


Abraham Boyd, son of Henry Boyd and Margaret (Beer) Boyd, was born in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, on the 4th of May, 1810. His wife, Maria Belinda, daughter of Ezekiel Hover and Sallie (Adgate) Hover, was born in Trumbull County, Dec. 15, 1809. They have four children--Henry Ezekiel, Sallie Columbia, Margaret Ann, and Mary Belinda. Mr. B. has a sister, Mary, and three brothers--James, John and Henry F. Their parents came to Ohio in 1812, and to Allen County in 1862. Abraham came to this county in 1837. Mrs. B.'s parents came to the county in 1833. Their children are, Emanuel, Maria B., Sarah, St. Clair, Charles A., Newton, Columbia, and William U. Hover. Mr. Boyd has served as Trustee and Member of the Board of Education.
